ALEX SCOTT BLOG - June 8th

A sore loser

As the title to my blog says.... i am a bad loser!!!Anyone who knows me, knows I hate to lose! we lost our last game to sky blue, this hurts! You have to give credit to Sky blue though, that is the best they have played all season, for us..... it was by far our worst. Some positives that we took from the game however are we tried to keep attacking into the 90 minutes +, but looking back on the game did i ever feel like we would get a late goal, probably not. It was just one of them days when nothing seemed to be going right.

No matter how hard we would keep trying, nothing was going to change the outcome.... a 2-1 loss. (i can not believe i have to keep writing that!)The good thing that we realized after the game is that we all wanted to hold ourselves accountable for the loss and not pinpoint mistakes to others. For example, i would tell the team it was my fault for keeping players onside and that i am so sorry, but then Angela would pipe in and blame herself for letting Skyblue have to much freedom in the midfield to play balls and put the defence under too much pressure, then Lilly would chip in and say it was the attackers not making smart runs and so on and so on...We all know this is a team game and you can never win or lose a game with just one player. Tony was pleased that the team showed this trait, he told us this shows that people want to do better for their team and do not want to let teammates down, they look internal instead of external which is not an easy thing to do (see you learn something new everyday right,ha).

The one good thing about soccer, is that there is always a next game to put rights to the wrongs!!so thats all i am going to blog about the game, because i hate losing and i can assure you that even now i can reply every moment of the game in my head and tell you what should have been done better (you are all most probably thinking i am a geek right now - oh well,ha) Bring on St Louis!!!!

So once again we have had a bye week, so this means lots of training, practice matches, and even fitness testing. Let me just fill you in on our fitness test....... LILLY IS A LEDGE...... Every young girl or boy who plays soccer needs to look up to this women and aspire to be like her....not only has Kristine lilly won just about everything there is to win, just had a baby and still whoops everyones bum on the fitness test, Lilly does not just rest on her lorrials oh no..... she wants more. she always demands more from herself and everyone else around her... if anyone was to ask me to define what i think is a true leader i would just give them one name KRISTINE LILLY.

So the one plus you get having a bye week is that you get a day off to relax and switch your mind of soccer. Saturday i went to the theme park called six flags. Myself, Kelly Smith, Jenny Nobis, Fabiana (Fabs as we know her), Fabs translator Becks and some more friends spent the whole day acting like big kids running from one roller coaster to the next. This was such a great day, i got a great picture of kelly on one ride that shows her being so scared that she has her hands clasped together and she is praying to get of the thing, we all laughed at this picture for the rest of the day (i wish i could share this picture with you all but Kelly would kill me,ha). It was also good to spend a whole day with Fabs trying to get her to speak English..... my efforts were not wasted (brace yourself folks) Fabs can now say....... THANK YOU!!!

Sunday was spent relaxing in the sun around Boston common which was lovely. Friends have been over from England all week, and they really fell in love with the city.
I get this question or statement so much from people, but i got it again from a homeless person sitting on a bench in the common, so i thought i would put this one out there for you all. The question or statement I get is - you really like like someone (im like really who?- i always know what is
coming next)Really????? ok i can say i may see some similarities, but to get it as much as i do - come on now everyone, your killing me,ha.
one last thing i want to blog about this week is my blog,ha (another geeky comment, i know) I have to apologise to everyone who has read my blogs before this one. I do read the comments i get, and I also know that the writing has been very small and at times maybe unreadable for some, but know this i really do try. I write this thing all out, nice paragraphs to make it readable, nice sizable writing, then i press post it and it all changes???? so i go back i edit, it happens all over again, i really think i do this about 3/4 times until i give up.so fingers crossed, that i think i have worked this problem out, but if it goes wrong..... you have to know that i have tired,ha!hopefully this one is a easy read for you all, until next week,
your sore England Boston breaker loser Alex Scott
