ALEX SCOTT BLOG -July 9th

Weekly Therapy

As i sit down with the computer on my lap and i begin typing away. I have began to realize this is now like a weekly therapy session for me. I really do not think what i am going to talk about in my blogs, but all of a sudden i type. I type some more and before i know it i have typed a hell of a lot and have to tell myself my hour is coming to an end so i need to round it all up and book in for next weeks session (is that how it works?) well anyway, just letting you all know that as i sit here with my english cup of tea, this has now become apart of my weekly routine which i look forward too.

Something that i really do not like doing is losing, yes Folks, after being on a good winning streak for a while (they say all things must come to an end) we lost against Sky Blue. Our ending came too soon and i was hurt and not ready for this! what is it with Sky Blue v the Boston Breakers??? the good thing is we play them again at home this weekend and i cannot wait. I also asked in a previous blog for our TV curse to be lifted. I got some really nice comments from people saying they have been working on it, which just makes me even more excited to play the game sunday... are you ready Fox Soccer, be ready to see the Boston Breakers win infront of the cameras!!! Coach Diccico has told us whatever we do we must find a way to win. My gosh how true is this every team can still make the playoffs and are just waiting in the wings for teams to slip up. We do not want to be one of the teams that depends on others for results. We need to focus on what we need to do (3points on sunday!!)

After the game sunday myself and Kelly leave to fly back to England for two national team games v Iceland and Denmark. It is the biggest Honor to represent your country and i will never ever get to tired of pulling on my England shirt. This is our last two warm up games before we head into the european championships this summer, and there really is a good buzz around our team at the moment that we can make something happen at this championship. These two games are massive for us and we really want to make a statement going into the tournament. The only downer is that we leave Boston at what really is the biggest point of the season - but like all coaches will say that is what you have a squad for right. Kelly and myself both know that players coming into the team are more then capable of stepping up to the plate and they have just been waiting for the chance to shine, and here they have the best oppurtunity to do just that ( i will have to fight to get my starting spot back when i return). There will be 7 national team players gone when we play against FC gold pride (4 USA, 2 English and1 Canadian) it just goes to show how much talent this team really does have.

This week we had a really fun team Bonding day. We had to do a number of team activities. One i have to describe to you in more detail because we all could not stop laughing. The last challenge of the day was..... split into two even teams. You had to run to a cone with your partner, blow up a baloon, then without using your hands or feet, try and pop the thing...... well you can imagine all the different techinques that the girls tried to use! i think that the gold medal for best and funniest technique has to go to Angela Hucles and Heather Mitts.... i have deemed it to explicit to describe on my blog, because i would like to think i reach out to all ages on here. There was also other games like trying to get your team over a fence without touching it, blind folded games etc.... the whole point of this day was about togetherness and communication. In the debrief we really went to town on our thoughts and feelings. Even though these were fun silly games they really needed us to communicate effectively with each other. We talked about how everyone has a big role to play on the team. Sometimes its about sacrificing yourself for others on the team. In some tasks it was not about going as fast as you can, it was about showing composure which lead to you finishing the task 1st. These are all things that as a team we are going to take into the last part of the season and really hope they stand us in good stead.

This week i did a duck tour in boston (yes it was are only day of sun in the city,ha) if you do not know what a duck tour is, its like this big truck that drives on land and water and it takes you around the city, it was fun to do, and i learnt some new facts to add to my tour guide Scott expertise when i have more guests in town. I also did a radio interview with mix fm to promote the team and the game on sunday. How much fun of a job is that by the way, i would love to do that, play music all day and talk about all kinda different topics that you want ( i know there is more too it, but do not take my fun away now). Karson Kenndy is singing the national athem at the game on sunday so i look forward to hearing her. I love the American national anthem. Its very passionate and i always want to sing along, but sorry folks i just cant, i got to be true to my beloved England and only sing for the queen, hehe.

Well i think that rounds things up for this week, oh i just remembered i have to mention Heather Mitts again, Heather threw the 1st pith at the Red Sox game this week and word on the street is that it was the best throw they have had from a girl!! come on now, did they not know who they was dealing with, OH MITTSAY (my nickname in a english accsent for her), your the best

Heather Mitts, a Boston Breakers...

The director was also back this week. The 2nd Boston Breaker team challenge has been filmed and should be up on the website soon, so keep a look out. I split the team into 3 groups the defenders/GK's, midfielders and Forwards. They were fighting to try and make there unit come out on top - who is the srongtest Unit??..... the strength test will reveal ,hehe!

Ok untill next week this has been your English Boston Breaker
